About Coach

I have a burning passion for all things fitness and helping others achieve their goals. I had the sport of Motocross be a MAJOR part of my life since I was 2-years old. I ate, slept, breathed, trained, and lived all things Motocross related. I lived for the competitive “high” I got from lining up at the starting gate. Not only did I race Amateur National Motocross, but I also played football and basketball at Kaneland Middle and High School and participated in other lines of action sports too. After hanging the racing boots up and starting my college career, weightlifting became a major part of my daily routine, but I was still missing that competitive drive I lived for. That changed when I walked into my first CrossFit class. After my first class, I was hooked and found myself going as often as possible. Fast forward 6 years later I set my eyes on achieving my CF LVL 1 Trainer Certificate so I can help others achieve the goals that they have and find that inner passion that I have as well. Outside of the gym, I love spending time with my wife (Danielle) and daughter (Quinn), our chocolate lab Beau, riding motorcycles, hunting, wake surfing, and mountain biking.

Turning Point

I was in my senior year of college at Illinois State and realized how much I had let myself go during the times of college. My best friend had started going to a CrossFit gym back at home and I had dropped in for a 12 Days of Christmas workout. I crawled out of there as I was so gassed but was hooked and determined to get back in shape and compete with some of the people that were in there as my naturally competitive drive sparked again.

Motivation & Passion

I'm passionate about seeing people hit their targets and goals that they set out for themselves. Whether it's losing 10 pounds, doing a certain weight in a movement, getting a faster score on a workout, to even just committing to showing up a couple of days a week -- its different for everyone and I get enjoyment about people just showing up and putting in the effort to make themselves a better person. We all could just sit at home and do nothing, but it's taking that step in being a better you that I love to see in people.
