I come from a very athletic background, I played every sport you can think of baseball, football, track and field even boxing. Most memorable and most rewarding were my 2 years in boxing where I was president of outboxing club when I was going to a university and I was a track and field athlete for 7 years where I threw the shot put and discus. I was never number 1 really in anything but coaches and peer-recognized my tenacity to never give up and to always push myself as far as I could go. I joined CrossFit a little over 3 years ago and have never looked back since. It is my home away from home and couldn’t have asked for a better second family. It keeps me in that competitive mode with myself that I missed from sports.
As I grew up the coaches that helped me in the sports I participated in helped shape me into becoming who I am today. I wanted to be like them, I wanted to be a source for someone to come to, not just to learn something athletic or different workout technique I wanted to be an outlet for people with whatever they needed outside the gym. I like to think that the style I bring to classes is coming more from an athlete's point of view rather than a coach’s. I want to bring a sense of safety and enjoyment to my classes so that the environment around during classes one where someone could come off the street and be completely welcomed with open arms, I believe all of the CFSG coaching staff has the personality and capacity to do that in classes. One thing I always like to say to my athletes is that I will always be honest with them, I’m not one for sugarcoating things.
I’m someone is going to be by your side through your struggles because we have all been there. I’ve had many struggles that most people wouldn’t know about or tell from talking with me. I’m wanting to help whoever I can whenever I can no matter the cost, I put others first in almost every scenario, so if you’re ready to work hard and play harder, I’m right here.
